3 Inch ABS Spigot Closet Flange, ABS Construction. This particular fitting is a Spigot Closet Flange for ABS Pipe applications and has a solid ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) construction. It has a 3 Inch Nominal Size design along with a full ABS plastic construction. A closet flange is used to securely connect a toilet to the drain. The closet flange fits onto the drain and is fused in place and then a wax ring sits on the top of the flange and provides a water tight connection with the toilet. In order to properly install this fitting, ABS cement is required to secure the closet flange to the existing pipe and also to create a strong connection for other pipes and fittings in the system. Unlike PVC, ASB fittings and pipe do not need a “primer” in order to soften the pipe and create a solvent weld. This will save you time as you fix or construct your plumbing system.
