This elbow has a 3in nominal size and is used to connect two pieces of ABS pipe while making a sharp bend in the pipe system. To properly install this fitting, ABS cement is required to secure the elbow fitting to the existing pipe and create a strong connection for other pipes and fittings in the system. Unlike PVC, ABS fittings and pipes do not need a "primer" to soften the line and create a solvent weld.
