• Direct-Acting Heating: When the temperature falls below the set point, the Honeywell TP972A2010/U increases the air pressure in the pneumatic HVAC system. This increase in air pressure opens the heating valve, allowing hot air to enter the space and raise the temperature to the set point.
• Reverse-Acting Cooling: When the temperature rises above the set point, this feature reduces the air pressure in the pneumatic HVAC system. When the air pressure drops, the cooling valve opens, allowing cool air to flow into the space and lower the temperature until it reaches the set point.
