Excellent customer response - fixed the water draining issue Rated 4 by KKrose
I had previously written a review about the issue of the water draining through the baffle of the Insinkerator Evolution series. My initial review was 1/21/14 and I heard from Jim customer service within the day. A different baffle was shipped to me within 10 days. I have installed in and been using it for 5 days now and it is wonderful. The unit is still remarkably quiet. There was never a question about the overall quality and power of the product.

Keeps food from leaving - AND ENTERING the disposal! Rated 1 by Philip
I purchased the Evolution Excel to get the best disposal that money could buy. Everything about the disposal is absolutely great - except for the included sink baffle (I assume it's the "Quiet Collar" type). The baffle is sturdy and definitely keeps food from flying out of the disposal (that's good), but it prevents any kind of food (even soups!) from entering the disposal. I guess it's just too stiff. I have to manually push all the food through the baffle with a spoon to empty my sink. This was never an issue on my previous Badger... I wish that Insinkerator offered a replacement baffle that actually allowed food to enter!

Slow drain unless I remove the baffle COMPLETELY! Rated 1 by Dishwaterhands
I just finished a kitchen remodel and I am searching for ideas to modify (cut) this collar baffle! I am so tired of having to remove the baffle so that my sink will drain! It is a messy nightmare and when I mentioned this to my sister, who is a kitchen/bath designer, she acknowledged that EVERYONE complains about this product. She told me to fabricate/cut mine in order to allow the water to drain from the sink faster. I'm not sure what to do. I know I hate having to go through this each time I use my beautiful new sink and faucet. When I pull the baffle out of the flange and the disposer is working- the noise is awful and I get splashed with dirty sink water! Yuck.

Could not aleviate a very bad (dead or sour) smell coming from unit. Rated 1 by vcable
No, I do not recommend this product.
We've gone thru 2 Insinkerator Evolution units in the past 8 years. Prior to that, the disposal was not an Insinkerator & we had it for 20+ years without any smell problems. We thought we would go to the Insinkerator (known for good quality & performance) at the same time we replaced the sink 8 years ago. It was fine in the beginning, but after a while we started having the smell. We've had more than one plumber work on the problem, trying to get rid of the smell, but without any luck. That's when we replaced the unit (twice) with a new one. The new unit was OK for a while, but now the smell is back. Any ideas???????
