Reviews for the Moen T3112 Kingsley Moentrol Shower Only Trim Chrome

 DIYer
The valve installation instructions should have specific dimensions related to the Kingsley. The m-pact valve with stops directions that I have show the plaster ground flush with the finished wall including tile (pic 4). This puts the valve too far forward. While I agree with the reviewer that says if the valve is properly measured everything works out, Moen fails to provide correct info. Pic 5 shows the depth can vary but this conflicts with pic 4. A 20 word explanation could answered more than all these pics. The valve has to go in before the wall is finished so how were the other reviewers to know they needed to not follow the directions. I'm going to have to cut into the wall behind my tub and desweat the valve, get new copper, and start over. Not a happy camper. My wife will be even less happy. I've done plenty of plumbing and assembled a lot of different products and I'll side with those that have the handle sticking too far out. I installed the Kingsley wall mounted sink faucet and had no problems. One of the reasons I spent the money on this product was the mpact valve and the promise of being able to change out the trim in the future without touching the valve. I'm guessing that promise is null and void as well.

I only gave 3 stars because of the poor quality of the installation instructions.

Great value and looks for a quick remodel. The shower valve handle does stick out too far and it has to do with the fact that my wall is only 4" making the valve that came with my set too big for the spot. I am looking for a replacement escutcheon to minimize this issue.

This is a very nice looking shower set. When installed correctly there is no gap behind the handle. The previous reviewer complained about the handle sticking out too far. This is not fault of the shower valve. It is because his plumber did not measure correctly when he installed it. The valve should have been mounted deeper in the wall. If you know what you're doing, it looks great.

While this is a simple shower, the flow of water is terrible. I don't need a waterfall, but I do want enough pressure to relieve tension in the shoulders and back. I took it off, and looked at it to see if I could take the restrictor out, but didn't see how it could be done. The only thing lacking in this otherwise nice oil rubbed bronze shower head is the pressure. One would think 2.5gpm would be sufficient, but with only one spray option, it is not.

I chose this as a replacement shower when we had to redo our shower. The handle now sticks out just like the previous reviewer. We are somewhat limited in changing the valve placement as described since this was a replacement I had thought should work. I cannot locate anything about a trim ring on the site or where I would order such a thing to try to minimiize the space between the shower handle and back of the shower trim. Please advice. I am not pleased with the product.
