About the Milwaukee 2407-22

The Milwaukee 2407-22 kit features a cordless M12 3/8" drill/driver with consistent power output, delivering 275-lbs of torque and variable speeds of 0-400/0-1500 rpm. An all-metal, single-sleeve chuck ratchets and locks onto bits, so you won't need to retighten them. This compact, lightweight drill/driver is small enough to fit in tight places and has an ergonomic handle for user comfort. Its built-in LED light helps you see in dark corners, and the on-board battery fuel gauge minimizes interruptions so you can keep working. The Milwaukee M12 3/8" drill/driver has a variable-speed trigger for precise control; and it is powered by a single M12 REDLITHIUM battery, designed to deliver more work per charge. REDLINK Intelligence protects the M12 drill/driver to prevent overloads and guard against abuse, managing the tool's temperature to extend its lifespan. This Milwaukee 2407-22 kit includes one M12 3/8" drill/driver, two M12 REDLITHIUM batteries, one M12 Lithium-ion battery charger, a carrying case, and a belt clip with positions for left- and right-handed users. Milwaukee Tool Corporation has been an industry leader since it began in 1924, providing durable, innovative, high-performance, heavy-duty tools and accessories for the trades and other tool users who demand quality.

Great Value Rated 5 by Anonymous
This is the third cordless drill I have owned. The technology has gotten amazingly better. The last cordless drill I had, the batteries took forever to recharge. The M12 takes about 20 minutes, and they last and last. This compact 12v drill has more torque than my old 18v. I've had the drill for two or three years now, and am very impressed with it. I do much drilling of wood and some metal. I do lots of screw driving. I use it to drill pocket screw holes. I like the compactness of this drill. My only "complaint" is that I would have liked a half-inch chuck. I have never had any problem with the shifting of gears. I follow the directions, and wait until the drill has stopped, and then change gears.

Great until it broke. Rated 4 by Anonymous
  Yes, I recommend this product.
This little drill/driver worked great for a couple years of solid use but broke when shifting gears. Pulled it apart and found that it has a couple plastic gears along with mostly metal gears. Maybe there is a design reason for the plastic shift gears hopefully other than a shorter service life. I liked it enough that I bought the same basic drill/driver but the hammer drill version. Hope this will have a longer service life. Also note that the operators manual say that the drill should come to a complete stop before changing gears. I never was able to get it to change gears very well. The gears didn't seem to mesh well when changing from one speed to the other. I would recommend this to a friend but that recommendation would hold a caveat.

Best drill I've bought Rated 4 by Anonymous
I primarily use it for drilling and screw driving. It's light weight has alot of torque and great in tight places. The switch to change it from speed 1 to 2 is a poor design causing gear repair for speed 2. Service reqd. twice in 2 yrs. for same problem.
