Needs a little engineering Rated 2 by bobbyL
  Yes, I recommend this product.
23" was too wide for my mother to push straight up to get off toilet. Had to narrow unit 4" to make it useful for a small weak person. Not everyone has a drill press and lathe to do this work. Adjustablity would be helpful. Not crazy about bar that falls 2" into opening on elongated comode that catches urine unless lifted by men upon every use. It also interferes with the pads of the toilet seat from sitting flat on comode. It works fine now but is not ideal. I understand that universal install is effecient, but vast improvements could be made if it was specific for an elongated or a round bowl.

Bar rust within 3 months Rated 5 by Anonymous
The product does a excellent job on assisting my female client on and off the toilet. I have installed 3 at this house. And 6 in other homes. The draw backs are the rear hinges and the front bar which started to rust due to urine in about 3 month and now are becoming not only unsightly but also may posse an health risk. I have contacted several painting companies and all agree that I will need a acid/urine resistant 2 part epoxy at 200 to 300 dollars. Have submitted the limit of 2 photos. Would be nice to get replace bars only instead of having to buy the whole unit.

Design Problem for elongated bowls Rated 3 by Anonymous
  Yes, I recommend this product.
My husband needed some extra help getting up from the toilet, even a comfort height. This looked to be the solution, However, because of the connecting bar at the front, it does not fit our new elongated toilet. It would seem to be a simple adjustment to put a curve in the bar so urine would not puddle on the bar as it limits the usefulness of the elongated bowl. Since many more toilets are now going with the elongated bowl, this should help more people in need of an extra "boost".

IT RUSTS AND SMELLS Rated 2 by Anonymous
No, I do not recommend this product.
I bought this for two men in my house. I liked the idea that it rests on the floor so it was easier to clean. BUT the bar rusted and the whole bathroom started to smell no matter how hard I cleaned it. I wrapped the bar in tape and that helped for a couple of days but then the smell was back and since the bathroom is near the front foor it is definitely not a welcoming smell.
