12 Inch Flange Accessory Pack. This particular product is a Flange Accessory Pack for use with Ductile Iron Pipe applications. The pack includes a gasket that features a 12 inch nominal dimension size along with a 1/8 inch thickness. A gasket is an important component for ductile iron pipe connections in that it acts as an air/water tight seal. The gasket is placed between two ends of pipe. When the two ends of the pipe are secured together via nuts and bolts, the gasket is also compressed taking any extra air gaps by sealing them up. One of the great things about connections that use gaskets are; (1) the gasket will not contaminate any fluid that is running through the piping system, (2) it is easily removed at any time when necessary. This pack also includes the bolts for proper installation flange. The bolts are used to connect the pipes strongly without the use of glue for connecting them instead.
