3 x 1/8" Full Face Red Rubber Gasket. This particular product is a Full Face Red Rubber Gasket for use with Ductile Iron Pipe applications. The gasket measures 3 inches nominal dimension size along with a 1/8 inch thickness. A gasket is an important component for ductile iron pipe connections in that it acts as an air/water tight seal. The gasket is placed between two ends of pipe. When the two ends of the pipe are secured together via nuts and bolts, the gasket is also compressed taking any extra air gaps by sealing them up. Two of the great things about connections that use gaskets are; (1) the gasket will not contaminate any fluid that is running through the piping system, (2) it is easily removed at any time when necessary. With its full face design, it includes mounting holes for nut and bolt connections. The gasket is ideal for use with the connection of Ductile Iron pipes and fittings.
