This particular fitting is an Adapter Fitting for Ductile Iron Pipe applications that features a Mechanical Joint x Flange connection design. An adapter is an important fitting as it is used in order to connect two sections of iron pipes or fittings together. The adapter has 10 inch connections on either side. It features a “mechanical joint” style connection which have machine drilled holes for proper installation on one side and a “flange connection on the other which also has drilled holes.
