Hi there, valued customer! We're happy to tell you that Kohler has replied. They said that the stem driver is part of the handle trim. You may update your trim to get a brass stem. They recommend the Kohler K-TS72767-4. Here is the Specification Sheet for more information. You'll need a Rite-Temp labeled shower handle, which you can select among these Rite-Temp valve trims.
