Hi! Thank you for asking about the Clayton Mark 9175B plunger. Yes, this plunger is what you need. To remove the plunger, first, turn the water supply off and lift the hydrant handle up to drain pressure. Then, remove the hydrant handle by loosening the fulcrum nut and bolt with the wrench and socket. After removing the handle, remove the linkage and loosen the set screw with a crescent wrench and remove the connector by sliding it off the rod up through the hydrant head. Next, loosen the packing nut 1 to 2 turns with a crescent wrench, but do not remove the packing nut from the hydrant head. Using two pipe wrenches, unthread the hydrant head from the pipe. Pull the inner rod (14) out of the pipe. Please note: Do not turn the inner rod counterclockwise or you could disconnect the plunger. Lastly, untwist the broken plunger from the bottom of the inner rod. To place an order, click the "Add to Cart" button, and fill out the form.
