Hello there! We value your interest in our Woodford R34-2-HC-BSP Freezeless Yard Hydrant. The R34 is Woodford's most economical hydrant. The suffix BSP stands for British Style Pipe thread, which unless you live in the UK, you would not want. The Woodford X34-2-HC Freezeless Yard Hydrant is the one with the blue handle and is a little more durable compared to the R34. Hi, there! Thank you for your inquiry about the Woodford R34-2-HC-BSPfreezeless yard hydrant. The difference between the RS-2 and the RS-2-HC-BSP is that the RS-2 has a DB9 female connector, while the RS-2-HC-BSP has a BNC female connector. Also, The RS-2 operates at a 5V TTL voltage level, while the RS-2-HC-BSP operates at a 3.3V CMOS voltage level. We hope this helps. Thank you for trusting PlumbersStock. Enjoy your day!
Hi! Thank you for your query about the Woodford R34-2-HC-BSP yard hydrant. This freezeless hydrant is operated by lifting the handle upward to open the hydrant. This action lifts the plunger or valve off the seat, allowing water to flow from the supply line. Water flows up from the supply line (usually buried below the frost line) through the hydrant's pipe and out through the spout or nozzle at the top. Then when stopping the flow of water, you simply push the handle downward. This action forces the plunger or valve back onto the seat, sealing off the water supply. After using the hydrant, it's essential to drain any remaining water from the spout to prevent freezing. You can do this by lifting the handle again to release any water in the hydrant and allow it to drain out. Thank you for trusting PlumbersStock. Have a great day!
