I replaced a brass crystal knob faucet with this conversion unit. The conversion was easy. My only problem is that the lever handle seems counterintuitive for hot and cold. With the old faucet, you turned the knob clockwise for cold. With the lever handle, clockwise is for hot. Since the H and C markers are on the top of the escutcheon, one would expect the top of the lever handle to point to the selected water temp, but the opposite is true. When the top of the handle points to C, the handle is turned clockwise, and you get hot water. I realize this orientation may be standard for lever handles. Our kitchen faucet is also clockwise for hot but at least it does not have H and C designations to confuse things.
