Good day! Thank you for your interest in our Action Machining AFI 1.5-32 filter. This filter works best if installed vertically. Do not install the 1/2" cleanout higher than the inlet and outlet connection. You also have to install the filter in a valve box or a shaded area to protect it from direct sunlight that can cause damage to the filter. We hope that this helps.
