(2) The vent should be easily removable for maintenance. (3) Only connect the water heater vent to an approved common-venting system, avoiding connections to other gas appliances. (4) Use appropriate materials for air supply pipes and avoid prohibited materials for non-metallic venting. (5) Sidewall or vertical venting is recommended, and slope horizontal venting sections appropriately. (6) Run the exhaust vent and intake pipe parallel when possible.
