Chronic Issues Rated 1 by KissyKat While I understand the horsepower in this model leaves much to be desired, I cannot fathom why I continue to have the same reoccurring problems with this unit. 1) Disposal must be run several times per day, even when no food has been dropped in. Water alone is enough to back it up. 2) When turning the disposal on, water shoots up several inches out of the drain in the opposite sink and spews water on any dishes left to dry-requiring a rewash of the dishes. Replaced Badger 1 with a Badger 1 Rated 4 by NWKaty The original Badger was over 20 years old. Once I had to take it out and flush out a tiny nail before reinstalling it myself (I am a teacher not a plumber). It was heavy for me so when it went out again years later, I called the handyman. He recommended the same product/model. Inexpensive! Quickly installed (money saving)! Works as hoped. It is a little noisy and it seems to vibrate the entire sink (which probably is not the most expensive builder provided 25 years ago.) The blades sound as if something is loose, but when I've searched around down there, nothing is loose, so many just part of the noise. Grinds quickly and efficiently. Insinkerator - it works, but does not sound like it will last. Rated 4 by Antonio1327 The only reason this product is not rated excellent is because it makes noise; I remember talking to the builders about the noise and being told that they have checked everything they knew to check and the problem was not resolved. I called your warranty department and let whomever listen over the phone; he agreed that it should not sound that way and recommended calling a service tech after our discussion... suffice it to say, it is still loud and we, the residents, have not put anything it in that would cause the sound. We have been in our home for a little over a year and the builders put it in so I can not really attest to "ease of installation." Originally posted on insinkerator.com Jun/2013
Surprisingly Quiet.... Rated 5 by oldog2 Yes, I recommend this product. So quiet in fact, that's how I burnt the other one up, left it running. Didn't realize it, till I went to use it again, switch was in the on position...you know that feeling...I'm 69 years old and dreaded installing a new one. But, believe what you may, it went quite well. Turnkey, about 45 minutes and best of all, no leaks! I took the installation a little further and added a lighted light switch, hoping this will keep me from leaving it on again...another good 45 minutes. Takes me longer to do things these days. Overall, great product, easy to install, surprisingly quiet...exactly what I needed. Thanks for making a great product... Originally posted on insinkerator.com Oct/2015
