what is the difference between Gen 1 volume cartridge 130157 and Gen 2 cartridge 147210. My house was built in 2010 using these parts.
Howdy! Thank you for posting your query about the Moen 130157 cartridge kit. The 130157 and 147210 are both volume control cartridge kit and has the same functionality, except they are working on the different rough-in valve. The 130157 is for use with the 3371 and 3600 thermostatic flow valves, while the 147210 is working with the S3600 volume control flow valve. Once you are ready to place an order, just click "Add to Cart," fill in the required fields, and we'll take care of the rest. Thank you for choosing PlumbersStock. Have a great day!

I purchased and changed 4 of these in my shower over a year ago trying to stop the dripping that continued even after I shut them off, it’s 2 rain heads, 1 hand held and 4 body sprays
It seemed to be better but still a drip enough to drive me coo coo, I spoke to a plumber of mine and he said I didn’t flush out the calcium that built up in the valve so little bits were keeping it from sealing correctly. Well I went thru the whole exercise again and cleaned out the valve body with a tooth brush then turned water back on and flushed everything out,
Put the valves back in, (made sure they were clean and used a slight bit of white lithium grease so it sealed and operated correctly
I think it’s better except the hand help continues to drip , shower floor was just redone and I had to put zip loc bags to catch drippings, ok so here is my question. Did I buy the right cartridge? I hate to buy 4 again at $40 each. Any suggestions? I can send pictures
