Is the valve made of metal? I have found this from multiple other sources but the housing and valve are both plastic, from this picture it appears the housing is plastic but the valve is metal.

A diverter, such as this Moen 14960, is installed inside a kitchen faucet to redirect the water from the faucet spout to the faucet sprayer when you press the sprayer trigger. When you squeeze the trigger, the water pressure drops to engage the diverter. This stops the water flow at the spout and moves it to the sprayer. In most cases, the sprayer stops working due to a clogged or damaged diverter.
