Hi! Thank you for your interest in our Peerless PTT188730 Core Chrome Valve Trim. With regard to your question, the center hole is approximately 2 1/8". However, it is best for the hole in the wall to be cut to fit the plaster guard. The plaster guard should be flush to the finished wall. Hope this helps! Good day! No, it is not. According to its specification sheet, this Peerless PTT188730 CORE Chrome Valve Trim's handle only controls the water temperature (hot and cold). The faucet must be turned off to stop the water. A similar valve trim with a volume control handle is included in the Peerless PTT88760 shower trim kit but we no longer carry that product.
