This 1-inch nominal size CPVC pipe is sold in convenient 5-foot lengths, making it ideal for smaller applications requiring shorter sections of pipe. The pipe is designed to use 1-inch CPVC fittings for all necessary connections. To join the pipe and fittings, a process called solvent welding is required. This process involves using both CPVC glue and primer.
The primer removes the pipe's glaze-like finish, allowing for a proper bond between the pipe and fittings. Failure to use primer can result in cracked or broken CPVC connections.
CPVC pipe is commonly used in applications such as handling corrosive fluids, fire suppression systems (sprinklers), and potable water distribution. Compared to regular PVC, CPVC offers superior performance with the ability to handle higher water temperatures ranging from 104°F to 122°F.
Note: Due to shipping regulations, straight CPVC pipe is sold and shipped in a maximum length of 5 feet. For longer lengths, coiled pipe is an alternative option.
