Hi! Thank you for posting your query about the Moen 1234 cartridge. The cartridge for the Moen 84778 Ashville has two versions. This Moen 1234, and the Moen 1224. If your existing unit uses the 174292 hot/174291 cold valve body kit, you will need the 1234 replacement cartridge. However, if your existing unit uses the 100742 hot/ 100743 cold valve body kit, you will need the 1224 replacement cartridge. For your reference, please refer to this parts diagram.
