Good day! We appreciate your interest in our Moen 26112SRN. The measurement of the Magnetix handheld unit is 11". That measurement is from the very top most part to the bottom where the spiral wrapping of the hose begins. There would not be an extension you can buy. However, depending on the shower arm itself you have installed can make the handheld lower if it curves down farther than a standard shower arm. However, we have other Moen hand shower shower heads though not of this kind such as the Moen 3861EPORB Oil Rubbed Bronze Handheld Shower with its spec sheet.
