Expansion Tanks are generally installed for the specific purpose of accommodating natural expansion and air/volume disbursement in Water Heating Systems. Designed to eliminate "water logging" and to ensure consistent water pressure of a water supply system, this 4.5 gallon Potable Water Expansion Tank is both lightweight and easy to install. This steel diaphragm tank is pre-pressurized and uses a heavy-duty rubber membrane to permanently separate the air and water within the tank to maintain consistent pressure without the loss of air to the water. This tank is light in weight, easy to install, and may be used with both hot water storage tanks as well as direct-fired hot water heaters (gas, oil or electric).

Hi, there! Thank you for your interest in our Watts PLT-12 4.5 gallon potable water expansion tank. This water expansion tank can be used even with low-pressure faucets. But, if you're bothered by your faucet's low pressure, you can do the following: (1)Put a pressure gauge on the hose bib and test your pressure.(2)If the water pressure is above 30 psi, there is probably no issue with pressure. (3)The next step is to run something and see if the gauge drops more than 5-10 lbs. (4)If it does, you can probably conclude that there is a sizing issue or obstruction in the water piping. Hi! Thanks for your interest in our Watts PLT-12 potable hot water expansion tank. Yes, you may need to fill the tank with air to pressurize it to the proper setting. You could use a manual bicycle tire pump if necessary. The normal air pre-charge is 20 psi and it must not exceed 80 psi. Air charge pressure exceeding 80 psi could become hazardous. Please take a look at this installation instructions manual for more information. Hope this helps! As our valued customer, we don't want you to miss any of our exciting deals and special discounts.
