Howdy! Thank you for posting your query about the Woodford Y34-6 hydrant. If your Woodford 6 ft bury faucet is not working when it's cold, it could be due to the plunger being frozen. Over time, the plunger can become frozen in place, preventing it from moving and operating properly. In this case, you may need to replace the plunger with a new one.
To troubleshoot the issue, you can follow these steps:
Shut off the water supply to the faucet. Remove the plunger from the operating pipe using pipe wrenches or vise grips. Examine the plunger for any damage. If it's damaged, replace it with a new plunger. Apply a small amount of silicone grease to the new plunger before installing it. Install the new plunger and secure it in place. Turn on the water supply and allow it to flow to flush the casing.
If the issue persists or you need further assistance, it's recommended to contact Woodford Manufacturing Company for support. Thank you for trusting PlumbersStock. Have a great day!
