It is lightweight and cut smooth like a hot knife and butter. Best of all, the cuts are clean. Unlike bypass loppers, the blade stays straight and true.

Had mine for a long time and it's still sharp. I have cut large diameter dry and green branches from citrus and mulberry trees, and the lopper handles it all without problems. I also have Corona's largest 32-inch conventional bypass lopper with forged blades, and this compound anvil lopper handily beats it in cutting power. Looking at the pictures of reviews of this lopper with bent blades, I question if it was used properly. Users should apply only a cutting motion perpendicular to the branch, and the cut should be as close as possible to the center bolt. An indicator that the blade is not perpendicular to the branch is that the blade mark on the anvil is not in the center.

It is somewhat heavy to use for an extended period. Must have widely separate handles to start cutting.

I purchased these to semi-replace a set I’ve been using for 20 years. They have been excellent. I have found the blade on anvil style to be more robust than bypass loppers. My old set will continue service at our lake cabin while I use the new ones at home.
