But when the filter gets old, it becomes less effective at filtering out the various minerals, chemicals, and microbes that may be present in the water supply. Thus, the filter gets clogged and it cuts off the water's ability to flow freely. When that already happens, you would need to change your filter by then. We hope this information helps!
