This 2-1/2in galvanized union is a fitting that allows you to connect two lengths of existing pipes or nipples together without removing the current pipelines. It comes with three threaded female connections and a male connection that are ideal for securing connections tightly and leak-free. (Teflon tape or pipe dope is required for a leak-free bond). This union fitting is applicable in hot water applications, but cold water applications are best with galvanized fittings and piping construction. Its galvanized construction is very durable, and its ability to resist corrosion and rust makes it a better choice than black iron or copper fittings.
