Actually, IMHO 100psi poly pipe is on the thin side. A kid on a bicycle can crush it. So, can you throw dirt over it? Sure. But truly bury it, say a foot or more? I wouldn't trust it in anything but 100% sandy soil and then only if I was sure nothing would ever drive over it. Now, 250psi or even 200psi poly, yeah that stuff is plenty thick, though you'd still need to surround it with sand and avoid driving on it. In those sections where traffic is likely, splice-in a section of PVC.
