The Wheeler Rex 6602 Steel Kit converts the 6601 Manual Roll Groover from Wheeler Rex for 1 1/4" to 6" for copper pipe to roll groove steel pipe instead. The machine still has the finger adjustable depth screw and gauge keys to provide exacting and quick adjustments to create accurate and repeatable grooves on the ends of 1 1/4" to 6" now in steel pipe. The grooves formed by the Wheeler Rex 6601 Manual Roll Groover comply with the specifications required for mechanical coupling systems by forming a self-restraining joint. The grooves made in the steel pipe combined with the fitting housing create an optimal strength to weight joint. The resulting join will be a permanent connection capable of withstanding the thrust loads placed upon it to the maximum rated operating pressure. The 6602 Copper Kit for the Manual Roll Groover 6601 doesn't change any of the features. This grooving tool is designed to rotate the steel pipe as the grooving rollers male on the outside and female on the inside the support the pipe, impress a groove into the copper pipe. The cold formed groove is now ready for joining to another Wheeler Rex 6601/6602 Manual Roll Grooved pipe.
