This particular fitting is an Adapter Fitting for Ductile Iron Pipe applications that features a Mechanical Joint x Flange connection design. An adapter is an important fitting as it is used in order to connect two sections of iron pipes or fittings together. The adapter has 8 inch connections on either side. It features a “mechanical joint” style connection which have machine drilled holes for proper installation on one side and a “flange connection on the other which also has drilled holes.
