The gasket has a 6 inch nominal dimension size along with a 1/8 inch thickness. A gasket is an important component for ductile iron pipe connections in that it acts as an air/water tight seal. The gasket is placed between two ends of ductile iron pipe, most commonly pipe that has mechanical joint connections.
